Overview
This classified layer maps mangrove extent, open mudflat and canopy condition across a set of tropical estuaries. It is intended to support habitat comparison and restoration planning.
Classes are kept separate so users can inspect change without reducing habitat condition to a single score.
Method
Multispectral scenes are combined with field checks and segmented into habitat classes. The archive retains the observation year and a confidence value for each cell.

Known limitations
Cloud cover, seasonal inundation and mixed pixels can obscure narrow or fragmented habitat. Use the confidence layer when interpreting small patches.
