Overview
This record provides a consistent spatial reference for marine jurisdiction, planning and reporting. It brings together the boundary geometries used across our maps and makes their legal or administrative basis visible alongside the linework.
The layer is intended for orientation and analysis at national and regional scales. It does not replace the legislation, treaty text or authoritative notices that establish a boundary.
Method
Boundary segments are digitised from published legal instruments, official charts and agency-maintained reference layers. Each segment retains a source identifier and a confidence note. The dataset uses a single feature class for the geometry and a companion table for instruments, dates and responsible authorities.

Interpretation note
